Clear Poetry has accepted three poems of mine, which will appear in next month’s issue.
…have been accepted by Shot Glass Journal, and should be out very soon. It’s great to have journals looking out for shorter works that might fall outside of more formal definitions of Haiku, Senryu, etc. Since so much of our poetic aesthetic is based on economy, and since so much of the “free” in free verse equates to no set line minimum or maximum, invariably you’ll end up writing shorter works.
And while editors will frequently publish these, sometimes the wee little ones simply don’t fit. The most easily-digested poems tend to be (it is assumed) those which fit on a single page, more or less. But then there are publications like Shot Glass that are willing, happy and able to seek out these shorter pieces and give them a chance at some daylight…
The poem “Canoeing at Night” was selected to be made into a broadside by Lines + Stars, coupled with the art of Alyssa Dennis (www.alyssadennis.com) . Copies of the finished product will ultimately be displayed in several spots across D.C. More about this project and Lines + Stars can be found here: http://www.linesandstars.com/ls-press/
…will be featuring “Curating a Necktie Collection” on their Website next year. Meredith Bergmann has a great ear, and was a pleasure to work with on this: http://meredithbergmann.com
You can read my poem “The Walled Garden” at the Red Eft Review. Corey Cook is the editor, and was also the editor of the very fine “Orange Room Review,” once upon a time (I also appeared in that journal, once upon a time, in its final issue).
has accepted “The Walled Garden,” and will be publishing it in just a few days.
will be appearing in Northern Cardinal Review later this week.
will be published by Diverse Voices Quarterly later this year….
