“You Could Almost Imagine” & “Like a penny in your mouth”

…have been accepted by Shot Glass Journal, and should be out very soon.  It’s great to have journals looking out for shorter works that might fall outside of more formal definitions of Haiku, Senryu, etc.  Since so much of our poetic aesthetic is based on economy, and since so much of the “free” in free verse equates to no set line minimum or maximum, invariably you’ll end up writing shorter works.

And while editors will frequently publish these, sometimes the wee little ones simply don’t fit.  The most easily-digested poems tend to be (it is assumed) those which fit on a single page, more or less.  But then there are publications like Shot Glass that are willing, happy and able to seek out these shorter pieces and give them a chance at some daylight…
